Leonani Meyer, BA, CSAC, CCJP

Certified Substance Abuse Counselor

Leonani Meyer is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) with over 20 years of experience providing substance use treatment services across correctional, community-based, and healthcare settings. Throughout her career, she has worked with individuals involved in the criminal justice system as well as those seeking recovery services within the community.

 

Leonani earned her Bachelor of Social Science degree from the University of Hawaii West Oahu in 2007 and obtained her CSAC and CCJP credentials through the State of Hawaii Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (ADAD) in 2008. Her professional experience includes providing treatment services within Maui Drug Court programs, leading treatment operations as a Program Director, and facilitating outpatient substance use treatment services within a federally qualified health center setting.

From 2003 to 2016, Leonani worked with Aloha House Drug Court Services, providing in-custody treatment services for Maui Drug Court participants. She later served as Program Director for Akamai Recovery Center, overseeing clinical operations, treatment planning, staff coordination, and client care. Since 2018, she has served as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor at Malama I Ke Ola Health Center, conducting assessments, facilitating individual and group counseling, and supporting Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services for individuals recovering from opioid addiction.

Throughout her career, Leonani has collaborated with probation, parole, federal, court, and community referral sources to help individuals access appropriate levels of care and navigate the recovery process successfully.

My approach is centered on meeting individuals where they are in their recovery journey and providing compassionate, supportive guidance throughout the healing process. I believe that creating an environment built on safety, respect, and understanding is essential to helping individuals achieve lasting recovery and meaningful change.

I strive to help individuals identify their strengths, overcome barriers, and access the resources and support systems necessary to build healthier and more fulfilling lives. Recovery is a personal journey, and I am committed to walking alongside each individual as they work toward their goals.
