Misti Newson, PMHNP

I have studied and graduated with honors from Walden University earning my master’s in nursing in 2021, and I am pleased to announce that I am returning to Walden University this fall to study my Doctor of Nursing. I began my nursing career in 2008 as a young nurse in a local mental hospital and now work there as a PMHNP, with over 10 years of service there with inpatient care services, and over 17 years of total service in the mental health community. I have served as a Director of Nursing and Interim Administrator of a 16 bed inpatient acute care facility for 6 years of my career and have worked seeing patients through the jail diversion programs with the state of Oregon, and also worked as a clinical care services nurse manager for the Oregon Department of Corrections.

I currently work inpatient and outpatient services with a mix of adolescent to adult clinical and acute care services as well as MAT and SUD treatment supervision and services. Along with MM services, I have some experience ordering and supervising patients with TMS and Spravato alternative treatment therapy and currently work in a clinic that offers both. Additionally, I own and operate my own company that specializes in weight loss management and injection treatment as well as some aesthetic treatments that I perform such as Botox, laser hair removal and hair implant and PRP therapy for sports medicine injuries.

In my spare time I am the busy mother and wife of a blended family of 11 children and 2
grandchildren, and I love to travel, bake, spend time outdoors boating and in the sun. I also love cosmetology, makeup and fashion as well as crafts and interior design. Family is my ultimate top priority and is my greatest gift and blessing. I have a great love of people and am committed to be compassionate and always seek to find the best in every day and live life to its fullest.

With all of my diverse experiences it allow me to operate with the upmost respect, understanding and knowledge of a mix of patients, across the Lifespan with complete dignity and focus on client individual needs; all while staying focused on the clients input and carefully using client participation in care planning and decision making.
